It's true that a trip to Oman can't be improvised in a day. You need to find out about a number of things: do you need a passport? Do I need to apply for a visa? Who should I apply to? When should you book your ticket?<\/em><\/p>\n The answers are quite simple<\/strong>. When it comes to your plane ticket, early booking is often the best option! If you want to take advantage of low fares or attractive promotions, travel blogs often advise you to get started as early as possible<\/span>. The same applies to your return ticket.<\/p>\n It is compulsory to have a visa to travel to Oman if you are staying more than 14 days in the country. <\/strong>If you are applying for a visa, you need to fill in the form (which can be found online) as accurately as possible.<\/p>\n There are\u00a0two types of visa<\/strong><\/span> These are the 30-day visa and the 30-day multiple-entry visa. When you fill in your form, you must specify which type of visa you are applying for.<\/p>\n You apply for an e-visa on the official website, and once the authorities have validated and approved your application, your visa is simply emailed to you. You should therefore print it out and keep it with you when you travel. Once you arrive in Oman, you must go to the immigration desk at the airport of arrival (usually Muscat). You must also present your passport.<\/p>\n If you're afraid you won't be able to fill in your application (in English) then call in a professional agency<\/strong>. They will send your application to the Omani authorities and have it validated. The agency will then send you your visa by e-mail. The procedure is then the same (you need to print it out and present it at the airport).<\/p>\n Once you've sorted out the paperwork and obtained your ticket, you're free to set off for Oman and discover the many wonders that abound in the sultanate.<\/p>\n Muscat, the capital, is packed with several souks, which are absolutely unmissable if you go to Oman. It's the best way to immerse yourself in the local culture and discover Omani handicrafts, the locals, etc. A must-see is the Muttrah souk, the city's oldest souk, dating back 2 centuries!<\/p>\n A veritable natural wonder, the Musandam fjords stretch for some twenty kilometres and are encircled by high peaks, more than 2,000 metres above sea level. These enchanting landscapes are reminiscent of Norway, but in the middle of Arabia! Ideal for trips in a dhow, a small traditional Omani boat.<\/p>\n Discover the Wahiba Sands in a 4X4 and ride through the immense dunes of the desert. It's all about magnificent scenery and thrills! It's a great way to immerse yourself in Bedouin culture. The Egyptian desert is also not far away, so if you want to take advantage of it, make sure you apply for a visa beforehand.<\/p>\n The highest mountain range in the Sultanate, Jebel Akhdar is a great place for hiking or 4X4 excursions.
