Applying for an e-Visa is quick and easy. How long does it take to obtain an e-Visa?
Applying for an e-Visa
Since 21 March 2018, the Sultanate of Oman has set up an official portal to apply for an e-Visa easily, online. It is a simple system to receive a travel authorisation and be issued with an e-Visa for Oman. Tourist visas for stays of more than 14 days are now only accessible via the Internet.
To apply, simply go to the Omani authorities' website and fill in all the fields on the form. Be careful not to make any mistakes, as once your application has been registered, it cannot be altered. A mistake could lead to your application being refused.
Make your e-Visa application is therefore quicker and saves time compared with the traditional embassy visa.
How long does it take to receive an e-Visa?
If the form only takes a few minutes to fill in, do you think it will take a while to receive your e-Visa? Well, no! As a general rule, travellers receive their visa by electronic mail within 3 working days on average. You then need to print out the document and present it as soon as you arrive in Oman, along with your valid passport (for a minimum of 6 months from the date of your arrival in Oman). Your e-Visa is then valid for 33 days from the date of approval by the Omani authorities. It is possible to enter Oman only once with the same visa (except with multi-entry visas, which are more expensive).
If you have difficulty filling in your form correctly or do not understand all the steps involved in applying for your e-Visa, why not use a specialist agency? You'll get all the help you need, and the agency will take care of your application. The agency acts as an intermediary between you and the Omani authorities and then sends you your e-Visa by e-mail. It will take no more than 3 days, so you can leave for Oman with peace of mind.
