If you decide to spend a few days in Oman, the best period is from the end of October to the beginning of April. During these 5 and a half months, temperatures will hover around 28 and 30°C throughout the country, so you'll be able to enjoy your trip in the best possible weather conditions.

If you're coming to enjoy the beaches, it's best to visit in April or October. At these times of year, the water is clear, making for superb diving.

However, you will need to go through the formalities to obtain permission to set down your bags on the Sultanate's soil, in order to enjoy Oman and its landscapes.

How should you prepare before your trip to Oman?

Since 21 March 2018, the country's immigration policies have changed and applying for a visa online is now possible, for certain nationalities. Applying at an embassy is therefore no longer necessary, as the e-visa process is faster.

How do I obtain an e-visa for Oman?

To obtain an e-visa for Oman, you must apply online. On the website, you will need to submit a visa application and attach the following documents:

  • Your passport valid for a further 6 months after your date of entry into the Sultanate,
  • A passport photo valid (you will find the accepted format on the site),
  • The dates of your stay in Oman
  • Le type of visa as well as the number of entries required.

In addition to these documents, you will need to pay the application and visa fees. Fees increase for multiple entries and long stays. After an average of 3 days, you will receive your visa confirmation by e-mail. You will need to print out this visa and present it as proof.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Before submitting your application, however, you should ensure that you are eligible for entry to Oman, to avoid any unsuccessful efforts.

On the home page, you'll find the nationalities eligible for a Oman e-visa. If yours is not on the list, you will have to find a way other than the e-visa to enter the country. You must not have an Israeli visa in your passport, or you will simply be refused a visa for Oman. Finally, your passport must have two empty pages for stamping entry to and exit from Oman.
